The Dirt Devil brand is owned by Royal Appliance Manufacturing. Royal was founded in 1905 as the P.A. Geier Company. In the 80's Royal introduced the Dirt Devil hand-held vacuum. From there the brand took off with a wide range of portable vacuum cleaners and central vacuum systems. Dirt Devil central vacuum systems are made and sold by H-P Products, Inc. in Louisville, Ohio.
