The M&S NW65RS Outdoor Patio Intercom Station is no longer available.  It can be replaced with the M&S DMC4RW retrofit patio station and M&S DMCFRW mounting frame.

The NW65RS designed for outdoor use with the DMC3-4, MC302 and MC602 models. The NW65RS replaces older intercom room stations that use a 4-wire connection to the master.

The NW65RS features a remote scan function that allows you to control the power and volume of the master unit's built-in AM/FM radio, as well as scan auxiliary, CD and radio sources. Other features include talk and listen buttons, radio station scan buttons, and volume control. This patio station communicates with door speakers, room stations and the master station. It also has the ability to activate a door release mechanism or a security system's panic alarm.

    Difference between the NW65 and N65. I know one says indoor and the other outdoor but what exactly is the difference?

    A:

    The NW65 has a cover over where the wires are connect to the circuit board and a better speaker cone for the weather.

    Will this work for my MC602

    A:

    This patio station would work as an indoor station, but is meant for the patio.  The newer room stations are the DMC4RS and they require a DMCFR frame so that there is no drywall patching required.

    I have a 20 year old M&S intercom system and I need to replace a patio speaker --- is the nw65rs the correct replacement speaker and will I need a Surface Mount rough in or will J channeling in siding work? I see there is a DMC1HRWS Surface mount rough-in but doesn't indicate it would work for the nw65rs?

    A:

    The NW65RS is compatible with the MC602 series and DMC3-4 series intercom systems.  A 20 year old system is typically a MC302 or MC350.  Anything other then a MC602, the NW65RS will not work.  The NW65RS mounts either in a current recessed housing or in a DMC1HRWS.

    Can this be used to replace "directly" a Nu Tone Out door station, Or will I need some adaptor?

    A:

    If you want to replace a Nutone patio station older then 4-5 years, you have to replace the entire system.  A M&S patio station will not work with a Nutone system.  Nutone offers replacement systems for updating old intercom systems as well as other companies.  Please see our intercom system kits page for replacement ideas.

    I have a MC350A M&S Sytem installed in my home which is 23 years old. Everything works fine except for the patio speaker which recently stopped working. Is there a retro replacement patio speaker available I can use for this existing system?

    A:

    The NW65RS is designed for the M&S MC602 and DMC3-4.  There are no other replacements available.  There is a chance that the NW65RS can work if the Red and Green wires are hooked up.  This will allow for music, but no intercom functions.

The product was delivered on time and as promised. The only thing that I would question is that the patio speaker appears to be the same as the indoor speaker, which does not appear to have any weatherproofing characteristics. Thank you

product was new. would like to see more weather protection. I fashioned my own clear plastic frame around the speaker for weather protection. The speaker had additional features (master volume, etc) that the original patio speaker did not have.
