The M&S Retrofit Patio Station is designed for retrofit outdoor use with the DMC3-4 Music/Communication Retrofit System Master. The DMC4RW replaces older intercom room stations that use a 4-wire connection to the master. This patio station mounts in a DMCFRW frame with mounting plate when replacing an old 5" station (for flush mount installation). If it is being installed in a new location or replacing an old surface mount box, this patio station mounts in a DMC1HRWS surface box (sticks out 2-3").

The DMC4RW features a remote scan function that allows you to control the power and volume of the master unit's built-in AM/FM radio, as well as scan auxiliary, CD and radio sources. Other features include talk and listen buttons, an audio input, radio station scan buttons, and volume control. This retrofit patio station communicates with door speakers, room stations and the master station. It also has the ability to activate a door release mechanism or a security system's panic alarm.

    I have an existing DMC3-4 Master ... my 4 wire remote unit is installed in a flush-mount plastic box on my patio, the existing station needs to be replaced ... for the DMC4RW unit, what is the distance between the mounting screw holes?

    A:

    The distance between the holes is 4 5/8".  If a new mounting box is needed (currently sticks out 3"), use the DMC1HRWS.  If the current speaker is flush (sticks out about a 1/2"), us the DMCFRW.
