• Q:

  is there a maintenance battery for time or other function in this system?

  A:

  There is no maintenance battery for time with this system.  However there is a capacitor of sorts to save tone volumes and preset radio station for a certain amount of time.  If power goes out for over 15 or more minutes, a lot of times these need to be reset.

• Q:

  Does the DMC3-4 use a transformer, and is that included in the purchased product? My current MC300 has a transformer (which appears to be the failing component). Thank you.

  A:

  The transformer is located in the housing required for the M&S DMC3-4.  The housing in a DMC1H.  If you plan on replacing the entire system, you have to replace all room stations, pation stations, etc.  The MC300 transformer is no longer available.

  Are the demensions (height -5 5/16) and width (15 1/4) inside the wall or outside the wall.

  A:

  This is outside of the wall.  The inside dimension are the DMC1H housing which is required for this unit.  These dimensions are 5 1/2"H x 14 1/4"W.

  Can a wireless door chime be integrated to the DMC3-4? For out on the patio.

  A:

  These systems are not set up to allow a wireless doorbell. You can add a doorbell but would need to have a wire ran to the location.

  I have a MC602 system. No room speakers, just ceiling speakers with individual volume controls and 1 doorbell. I want to upgrade to Bluetooth and USB port for music input. What do I need to purchase and costs please. Thanks

  A:

  To replace the MC602 with Bluetooth, you will need the DMC3-4 master, DMCBT unit, DMC1HC wall housing, and DMCFC frame.

  I just sent you some misinformation. My existing unit is a M&S MC 602 unit. Does the DMC3-4 replace it?

  A:

  Yes, the DMC3-4 replaces the MC602.  A new DMCFM frame is definitely required to prevent drywall patching.  Other options would be a TE5D transformer, or DMC1H wall housing if the area would be preferred to have the drywall patched.

  Can the DMC3-4 replace a Nutone IM-3303 master station? Will it work with existing Nutone wall speakers?

  A:

  The DMC3-4 along with any other new system would require a full system upgrade.  The existing wiring can be reused, but all room, door, and pation stations need to be replaced.  The new units are smaller but come with trim plates so that there is no drywall patch or repair.  The better options for the 3-wire is the Intrasonic RETRO system or the Nutone NM100.  If the DMC3-4 is preferred, then the kit would need to be customized.

  Need to replace MC602 master unit. Room stations have 4 wires. AM/FM radio only, no CD or other.. What do I need, if anything, other than DMC3-4 and frame? Can I use existing housing (14.25Wx7.25Hx3.875D) and transformer?

  A:

  Nothing other then the frame.  You can use the existing transformer.  The screw holes do not line up, but you can make it work.

  from the face that the master would lay against (tile or drywall) it goes back an additional 3 1/4"

  I would like to replace a WH35X unit installed since 1993. The unit is working but mechanical volume adjustment and switch controls are rough. Have 2 doorbell/speakers, and 5 large style room intercom/speakers. Is there an upgrade for the Master unit that will work with the current speaker units? Also would like Bluetooth connectivity.

  A:

  When this master unit is replaced, all of the speakers have to be replaced.  The existing wire can be used.  We can provide a quote if you tell us the height and width of the room speakers.

  A:

  If you choose the external option for docking station it does.  The DMC3-4 only comes with RCA inputs.

  I want to replace my MC602 with DMC3-4. Is there an option for Blue tooth?

  A:

  To have bluetooth capability with a DMC3-4 and assuming you don't have a CD or cassette player under the master, you need to purchase the DMCBT bluetooth player, DMC1HC combo wall housing and DMC1F combo frame.  If you plan to replace your intercom speakers, you should purchase the Intrasonic RETRO intercom system with bluetooth.  It is a better system and will end up being less expensive than the M&S system.

  I just replaced my MS602 with the DMC3-4 upgrade replacement SKU22769. Am I suppose to be able to hear music from master speaker? If so mine does not have audio at this speaker. All other room stations,

  A:

  Yes you are.  Please check two things. First, make sure the switch on the left hand door that the master switch is set to radio/intercom.  Second, make sure that in the tone settings that the mater volume is up and not just the music volume.  If you have issues from there, please contact us to help.  800-533-3249

  I have a customer with a M&S 602 4 wire intercom system. Will the existing room stations work with the DMC3-4 retrofit master station?

  A:

  Yes, the existing room stations from an MC602 system will work with a DMC3-4 master station.  You will also need a DMCFM frame to cover the existing hole if the MC602 is by itself at 16"w x 9"h.

  I want to replace my m&s intercom and fm radio Model MS6-FM master unit will this work with the speakers or would I need to replace the whole system? Or is it even possible to repair the one I have?

  You can use the DMC3-4 as long as all other locations are in good shape.  You will need a new wall housing and a gap frame.

  M&S never made parts for the intercom systems.  You could only replace the master station.  Now M&S has discontinued their intercom line all together.  The only thing we can offer is a full intercom replacement system.  If you look an the Intrasonic RETRO system, you can get a start there.  If you want a proper replacement quote, please call in to discuss details or send them to orders@qualityhomesystems.com.
